Startrails!!

ISO: 100 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: bulb Lens: 24-105mm

This was a picture of star trails that I took when I was supposed to be taking pictures of orbs. I figured that while I was outside freezing by butt off I might as well take some. It was easier than the orbs because I was able to just press the button on the trigger and go sit in my car and wait cause it was SUPER COLD!!! I really would like to go and take more star trail pictures and maybe leave my shutter open even longer.

Upchurch award...

ISO: 800 Aperture: 5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/60 Lens: 17-50 Flash: 430

This was a picture that I took on a photo assignment for the surprising of Mr. Upchurch with an award. It was really irritating because the camerawoman kept getting in the way, so I just decided to kinda work with her for a little while. I liked this picture because of the way Mr. Upchurch is framed. It also kinda shows just how hectic everything was. I didn't really have any other photos on this assignment.

Headshots!!!! again....

ISO: 100 Aperture: 2.8 Shutter Speed: 1/500 Lens: 17-50mm

This was a headshot that I took during class today. To be honest, I didn't really have anything else to put on my blog so I figured that this would work. The hardest part I guess was getting the lighting right. Her shoulder is just a little bit blown but other than that the photo turned out pretty alright. This doesn't really have anything to do with photography, but I really liked her ear rings!! :DD

Personal Pizza!!!!!!

ISO: 800 Aperture: 8.0 Shutter Speed: 1/250 Lens: 28-135mm Flash: 580

ISO: 800 Aperture: 13  Shutter Speed: 1/250 Lens: 28-135mm Flash: 580

So this was a picture that I took for the newspaper. It really wasn't a hard picture to take besides just adjusting my flash with the settings on my camera. For some reasons I always end up taking photos of food or objects. I guess it's because I find it easier than taking pictures of people! haha!! oh well, I guess I should work on that one.

Soccer!!!!!

ISO: 2000 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/250 Lens: 70-200mm Flash: 580

ISO: 2000 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/250 Lens: 70-200mm Flash: 580

ISO: 2000  Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/400 Lens: 70-200mm Flash: 580

This was my first time to shoot soccer. I really liked it, but the only thing about it is that everything is so far about, whereas in football, everything is kind of close together. It took me a while to figure out all of my camera settings, but after I kinda got that figured out it was alright. I definitely want to go and take pictures of soccer again because I think that I will have a better idea of what is going on.

HDR part 2!

ISO: 1000 Aperture: 8.0 Shutter Speed: a bunch of different ones Lens: 17-50mm

This is another HDR that I took. I like the colors in the sky cause they're super vivid. However, I wish that the grass wasn't all dead so that there would have been more color in the foreground. I feel like that would have made this photo ten bajillion times better. One of the hardest partys of taking this picture was the fact the the twigs on the trees were so tiny and when the images were put together, some of the filters made the picture look kinda fuzzy. I think I'm definitely going to try this again when the grass is greener.

Experimenting with HDR

ISO: 100 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: (a bajillion different ones) Lens: 17-50mm

So this was the first HDR that I have ever taken. I really like to take them because I like to get all of the vivid colors that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. This one that I took was kinda ruff, but I'm hoping that I will find some better subjects to take pictures of. I really like the whole idea of putting a bunch of pictures together. I will definitely be messing around with GDRs a whole lot more.

puddles!! :))

ISO: 640 Aperture: 5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/320 Lens: 17-50mm

ISO: 640 Aperture: 2.8 Shutter Speed: 1/800 Lens: 17-50mm

So this morning I woke up and immediately thought of taking pictures in puddles. I really like taking pictures in reflections so I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity. I would really like to take more pictures in puddles, but I'm going to have to wait until it rains again. I really want to take pictures of people jumping in puddles and hopefully I can do that next time.

Boys JV Basketball

ISO: 1600 Aperture: 2.8 Shutter Speed: 1/320 Lens: 17-50mm

ISO: 1600 Aperture: 3.2 Shutter Speed: 1/320 Lens: 17-50mm

ISO: 1600 Aperture: 3.2 Shutter Speed: 1/320 Lens: 17-50mm

So these were some of the pictures that I took at the Denison JV basketball game. I kind of lucked out and didn't have to set up all the lights because I shot second. The only problem that really occurred during this assignment was the fact that the auto focus wouldn't focus on what I wanted it to. The other problem that I faced was that I kept cutting off the feat of the players, so I guess I just need to be more aware of the photo. Even though the second photo didn't show faces I liked it just because of the rim light on players. The last photo just captures the kind of time that Ruth and I had while shooting this game. It was hilarious!! I can't wait to shoot basketball again! I definitely like it a whole lot more than volleyball.

Adopt a Kid Christmas

ISO: 400 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/250 Lens: 17-50mm

ISO: 400 Aperture: 5.0 Shutter Speed: 1/250 Lens: 17-50mm

These were a few of the pictures that I took for the Adopt a Kid Christmas thing that the leadership class did. I would say that the most challenging part of this assignment besides the actual lighting and stuff was the emotional part of it. There were times during this assignment where I almost began to cry, but I had to remember the reason why I was there and to get the pictures that I needed to get. I'm really glad that I shot this assignment and I think that it is one of my favorites.
